Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will assist in providing quality care to our animal patients and support our veterinarians in delivering exceptional veterinary services.
Duties:
– Perform various veterinary procedures under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian
– Assist with animal examinations, vaccinations, and treatments
– Administer medications and perform laboratory tests as directed
– Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures
– Take and develop X-rays
– Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery of patients
– Maintain accurate medical records and update patient files
– Educate clients on proper animal care and answer their questions
– Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
– Assist with pet grooming, including bathing and nail trimming
Requirements:
– Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or equivalent certification preferred but not required.
– Experience working as a Veterinary Technician or in a related role
– Strong knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology
– Proficient in performing aseptic techniques and maintaining sterile environments
– Skilled in dog handling, including proper restraint techniques
– Experience with X-ray equipment operation is highly desirable
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
– Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively
