Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of animal care and veterinary practices, ensuring the health and well-being of our patients. This role requires a proactive approach to assisting veterinarians in various procedures, providing excellent care to animals, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging, including X-rays.
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
Monitor animal health and behavior, providing updates to the veterinary team.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
Provide education to pet owners on animal husbandry and care practices.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kennel area, treatment rooms, and surgical suites.
Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection.
Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with cleanings.
Handle dogs and other animals safely and effectively during examinations or treatments.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a veterinary setting is preferred; certification as a Veterinary Technician is a plus.
Strong knowledge of animal physiology, husbandry practices, and handling techniques.
Familiarity with pet grooming practices is beneficial.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.
Must be able to lift animals safely and handle them with care.
