Job Title: Private Veterinary Technician for Company Mascot a 5 year old Dachshund and other Pets (4 cats)
Location: New Tripoli, PA 18066
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Schedule: Flexible, including occasional weekends and evenings as needed
Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Veterinary Technician to join a private company with family ownership and provide top-tier veterinary support and wellness care for a family’s pets, including a dog, 4 cats,. The ideal candidate will have clinical experience, a strong understanding of animal behavior, and a proactive approach to maintaining the health and well-being of animals in a home setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide daily care for household pets including feeding, grooming, exercise, and medication administration
Monitor and assess pets’ health and behavior, reporting changes to the family and/or primary veterinarian
Assist with veterinary appointments and communicate with veterinary professionals
Maintain accurate health and vaccination records for all animals
Perform routine health checks and basic medical procedures (e.g., administering injections, trimming nails, wound care)
Maintain cleanliness and organization of pet areas, supplies, and medical equipment
Coordinate and supervise external pet services such as groomers, trainers, or walkers
Educate family members and household staff on proper pet care practices and emergency procedures
Provide post-operative or chronic illness care under veterinary direction
Travel with pets as needed, ensuring their comfort and care during trips
Qualifications:
Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT preferred but not always required)
Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a veterinary practice or similar setting
Strong knowledge of animal health, nutrition, and preventative care
Experience with a variety of breeds and temperaments
Excellent observational and problem-solving skills
Discreet, trustworthy, and able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Comfortable working in a private home with flexible scheduling needs
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and handle animals of various sizes
