Blue Pearl Pet Hospital offers an exciting opportunity for Veterinary Technicians to utilize and expand their skills while working alongside talented veterinary professionals.
Schedule: Full-Time
Position: Veterinary Technician for our ER Department
As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:
Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients, using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
Triages emergency cases upon arrival, including obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
Understand normal ranges of patient vital signs, including heart and respiratory rates, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting Veterinarian to any changes or issues.
Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR if necessary.
Calculate medical math accurately, including constant rate infusions, and administer medications via appropriate routes and durations.
Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels proficiently.
Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
Mentor and train colleagues with patience and empathy, addressing client concerns effectively.
