Wellborn Road Veterinary Medical Center is looking for a trained OR certified Veterinary Technician, to practice high-quality medicine and work with well-trained staff. We are looking for a flexible, hardworking, and outgoing person to join our team. We are looking for an individual that is a team player and is detail-oriented. Daily duties include but are not limited to small animal preventive medicine, surgical assisting, dental procedures, anesthesia monitoring, emergency treatment, laboratory, and radiology. The candidate will:
· Use strong communication skills to obtain and record patient histories and educate clients.
· Accurately record the client and patient information into the computer.
· Dispense and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments prescribed by the veterinarian.
· Assistance with examinations and surgical procedures.
· Triage and assist in emergency care during and after business hours.
· Provide nursing care for injured and ill patients.
· Provide and monitor anesthesia for the anesthetic patient.
· Perform dental prophylaxis.
· Digital radiography.
· Dental Digital radiography,
· Assisting with ultrasound.
· Utilize in-house IDEXX equipment.
· Collect and run lab samples.
· Prepare surgery packs.
· Restrain patients using low-stress techniques.
· Be a compassionate and self-motivated member of the team.
· Help keep the area clean.
