Experienced Veterinary Technician
$20–$30 per hour | Four-day workweek | Saturdays end at noon | Closed Sundays
Summer’s Animal Hospital & House Call Practice in Pompano Beach is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our growing team. Our extremely loyal client base has helped the hospital grow rapidly. We are adding staff proactively so we can maintain exceptional patient care without overworking the talented people who have helped us grow. Many members of our staff have been with Summer’s for years. Turnover is low, working relationships are strong, and protecting our culture is one of our highest priorities.
We are looking for a capable, dependable, and compassionate technician who wants to practice excellent medicine alongside teammates who genuinely support one another.
Compensation
$20–$30 per hour, based on veterinary experience, credentials, technical proficiency, surgical and anesthesia skills, and ability to work independently.
Schedule
- Predictable four-day workweek
- Approximately two Saturdays per month
- Saturday shifts end at noon
- Hospital closed every Sunday

Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate nursing care to outpatient and hospitalized patients
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures
- Prepare patients, equipment, and the surgical suite for procedures
- Monitor anesthesia and support patients throughout recovery
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, sample collection, and in-house laboratory testing
- Maintain complete and accurate patient records
- Educate and communicate with clients clearly and compassionately
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient treatment environment
- Communicate effectively and contribute positively to the team
Qualifications
- Previous hands-on experience in a veterinary hospital
- Strong animal-handling and restraint skills
- Experience with surgery and anesthesia is strongly preferred
- Ability to work confidently in a growing, team-focused practice
- Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail
- Dependability, professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment
- Commitment to high-quality medicine and respectful teamwork
