Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining sterile environments.
- Perform laboratory work including blood draws, urinalysis, and other diagnostic tests using veterinary software and lab equipment.
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques for dogs and cats.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments accurately following veterinary protocols.
- Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures and critical care cases by observing vital signs and adjusting anesthetic levels as needed.
- Conduct radiology diagnostics such as X-ray imaging while ensuring proper animal positioning and safety precautions.
- Maintain detailed medical records.
- Support pet grooming, pet care advice, and basic training to enhance overall pet well-being.
- Manage vascular access procedures including IV insertion and animal catheterization for treatment or diagnostics.
- Assist with emergency medicine cases by providing critical support in urgent situations requiring rapid response and effective animal handling.
Qualifications
- Prior veterinary technician experience and certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and medical procedures.
- Experience with dental terminology, anesthesia monitoring (including general anesthesia), phlebotomy, and laboratory diagnostics.
- Skilled in dog and cat handling, animal restraint techniques, animal catheterization, and radiology diagnostics.
- Familiarity with veterinary software systems for record keeping and appointment management. We currently use ezyVet
- Ability to operate medical equipment such as X-ray machines and laboratory analyzers confidently.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction regarding pet care instructions and treatment plans.

Pay: $23.00 – $26.50 per hour
Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
