Veterinary Technician Jobs in Basking Ridge, NJ at Basking Ridge Animal Hospital
Duties:
– Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
– Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, blood draws, and dental cleanings
– Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
– Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures and surgeries
– Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
– Take x-rays of animals as needed
Qualifications:
– High school diploma or equivalent required
– Completion of a veterinary technician program preferred
– Certification as a veterinary technician is a plus
– Experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital is preferred. Salary negotiable for 3 + years of veterinary technician experience and/or certification.
– Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
– Proficiency in handling and restraining animals safely and compassionately
– Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and veterinary team members
– Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
