Veterinary Technician
Job purpose:
Looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician with previous experience to support the Veterinarian and provide high quality veterinary care with exceptional client service, and help in the smooth flow of the hospital.
Duties:
- Veterinary technician must be professional, courteous, and provide exceptional client experience.
- Veterinary technician must be comfortable with pets (Dogs, Cats) of all sizes & breeds.
- Obtain history from clients, educate client about preventive care & treatment plans, and maintain accurate medical records.
- Must be able to restrain pets, stand for a longer period of time, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Experience with assisting in surgical procedures, dental prophylaxis, and other clinical & diagnostic procedures.
- Experience with laboratory procedures like sample collection (blood, fecal, ear swab, others), sample preparation, and working with in-house diagnostic machines.
- Must be skilled in anesthesia, dentistry, nursing care, pharmacy, radiology, and surgery.
- Keep the hospital clean, safe and welcoming to clients.
- Daily cleaning, weekly/monthly cleaning & maintenance duties.
. Veterinary Technician must work as a Client Service Assistant/Receptionist as needed.
- Willing to be cross trained as a Client Service Assistant/Receptionist.
- Must have computer skills like Microsoft Word, excel, and computerized medical records. Experience with Covetrus Pulse software is preferred.
- Must have organizational & problem-solving skills, patience, attention to detail & verbal communication.
- Must be willing to work special hours like weekend & evenings. Flexibility in schedule is required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
