Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician or Technician Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal care and welfare, with the ability to handle various breeds of dogs and cats with a few exotics. As a Veterinary Technician or Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality medical care to our patients while supporting veterinarians in their daily tasks.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
Perform animal handling and restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both animals and staff.
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall health during procedures and recovery.
Maintain accurate medical records for each patient.
Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and training techniques.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment, including equipment sterilization.
Requirements
Proven experience in animal handling and restraint techniques.
Knowledge of animal anatomy and veterinary critical care practices.
Familiarity with laboratory procedures relevant to veterinary medicine.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Certification as a Veterinary Technician is preferred but not mandatory; on-the-job training will be provided for the right candidate.
