Overview
Veterinary Technician Jobs in El Dorado Hills, CA at Fat Kitty CityHUmane Society
Fat Kitty City Humane Society is a sanctuary and adoption center dedicated to providing life-long care and respite for kitties in need.
Our guiding principle is that no cat is left behind focusing on ending needless suffering while rescuing as many cats as funding will allow. As a result, we offer low to no-cost spay and neuter services and sometimes
emergency vet care to the community. This ability to treat cases in-house has earned FKCHS a large base of loyal volunteers and donors who support our cause. However, we are still a not-for-profit organization and have limited resources.
Located just 25 miles east of Sacramento in the Sierra Foothills nestled on 20 acres we have a small clinic where we can treat our sanctuary cats and care for those in need.
The RVT or Vet Tech in this position will provide expert care for the cats that come to and live at the sanctuary and will be responsible for their overall health. They will be our point of contact for our contract veterinarians in multiple procedures providing care for cats including physical examinations, immunizations, adopter/client education,
inventory maintenance, and surgery scheduling. This position requires a working knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs, common cat diseases, their symptoms, means of transmission, treatment and prevention, and other basic preventative health care recommendations. This is an overview of the position.
