Mountain West Veterinary Specialists – Layton is seeking an experienced, outstanding Day Shift Veterinary Technician to join our growing team.As a locally owned and independently operated specialty and emergency hospital, we are passionate about providing advanced veterinary medicine while fostering a positive, collaborative culture where every team member is valued.We are committed to practicing high-quality medicine while creating an environment where technicians can learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact every day.ResponsibilitiesAs a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in patient care and client support by:Triaging and assessing patients upon arrivalMonitoring patient vital signs and providing nursing careAdministering medications, treatments, and intravenous fluids as prescribedAssisting with diagnostics, including radiology, laboratory testing, and advanced imaging proceduresPlacing IV catheters and collecting diagnostic samplesAssisting veterinarians with procedures, surgeries, and critical patient careMaintaining accurate medical recordsSupporting and educating pet owners with compassion and professionalismCollaborating with a dedicated team to provide exceptional patient outcomesQualifications & What We’re Looking For2-3 years of veterinary experience requiredProficiency in patient handling, restraint, and technical nursing skillsStrong organizational and multitasking abilitiesHave a positive attitude and strong work ethicThrive in a collaborative environmentEnjoy learning and growing professionallyRemain calm and focused in a fast-paced settingScheduleFull-time Day ShiftThree 13-hour shifts per weekMany team members enjoy consistent schedules that provide excellent work-life balanceOne weekend day a week is required as one of your (3) shifts, Rotating weekends is preferredSome holiday shifts are required due to our 24-hour hospital operationsJoin Our TeamAt Mountain West Veterinary Specialists, we believe great medicine starts with great people.
