Veterinary Technician Jobs in Pittsburgh, PA at PetVet365 – The Terminal
Responsibilities:
– Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
– Perform various laboratory tests and procedures
– Administer medications and treatments to animals as directed by the veterinarian
– Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
– Take and develop X-rays of animals
– Maintain accurate records of animal health and treatment
– Clean and maintain kennels, examination rooms, and equipment
Experience:
– Previous experience as a veterinary technician or in a related field is preferred/CVT/RVT/LVT license preferred for this role
– Knowledge of animal handling techniques and best practices/fear free experience/certification is a plus
– Understanding of basic pet care, including feeding, grooming, and exercise
– Ability to perform laboratory tests and procedures accurately
Skills:
– Animal handling/restraint
– Venipuncture
– Veterinary critical care knowledge
– Laboratory procedures such as ear cytology/urinalysis/fecal testing
We offer competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications. Starting pay range is $18-$26 an hour with the potential of an increase based on experience. This is a full-time position with opportunities for career growth within our veterinary practice.
