We are currently a one doctor practice looking to expand for a full-time veterinary assistant or veterinary technician (Experience preferred but we can train the right candidate) for our Palatine, IL location.
We are looking for a compassionate, self-motivated, dependable technician with a positive attitude who can work both independently and as a team player.
Duties include (but not limited to):
* Client Interaction and Education – obtain patient histories, explain discharge and medication instructions etc.
* Animal restraint / Assisting doctors in exam rooms
* Care and administration of treatment with hospitalized patients
* Basic in-house laboratory
* Anesthesia monitoring and recovery
* Surgical preparation and assistance; Sterilization of instruments
* Taking digital radiographs
* Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
Applicants must be at least 18 yrs or older and be willing to work both morning and evening shifts, and every other weekend a month. Compensation based on experience.
