Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our one-doctor practice. In this role, you will provide essential support to our veterinarian, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to animals in a close-knit and personalized environment. You will assist with various medical procedures, monitor the well-being of pets, and help maintain a clean and safe clinic environment. Your expertise in veterinary terminology and animal care will be invaluable in providing exceptional service to our clients and their beloved pets.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
Utilize veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with the team and clients.
Perform animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both pets and staff.
Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarian.
Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
Prepare animals for surgery, such as catheterization.
Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines.
Provide post-operative care and monitor animals during recovery.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and grooming practices.
Answering phone calls
Checking in and out patients
Scheduling appointment
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or similar role is preferred.
Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and critical care practices.
Proficiency in animal catheterization, laboratory procedures, and animal restraint techniques.
Familiarity with X-ray equipment and procedures is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a passion for animal welfare.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology is preferred but not mandatory.
Willingness to engage in continuous learning and professional development.
