Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgeries, administering medications, performing laboratory tests, and providing general animal care. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for working with animals and possess excellent technical skills.
Responsibilities:
– Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
– Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
– Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and fecal examinations
– Monitor the vital signs of animals under anesthesia
– Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery progress
– Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
– Educate clients on proper animal care and answer their questions or concerns
– Clean and sterilize equipment and maintain a clean work environment
– Assist with animal restraint during procedures or examinations
Qualifications:
– High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology preferred
– Previous experience working as a Veterinary Technician is highly desirable
– Knowledge of pet care, animal husbandry, and general veterinary practices
– Proficiency in performing basic laboratory tests and using medical equipment
– Familiarity with aseptic technique and proper handling of animals
– Experience with equine or veterinary critical care is a plus
– Strong communication skills with the ability to educate clients effectively
– Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments safely
– Knowledge of animal catheterization techniques is an advantage
Note: All positions must be paid, including internship positions.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 – $20.00 per hour
