Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic veterinary team. Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing animals and maintaining sterile techniques.
- Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff during examinations or treatments.
- Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work and other diagnostic procedures, to support accurate diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Maintain detailed medical records, documenting treatments, medications, and patient progress with precision.
- Provide pet care services such as grooming, feeding, administering medications, and monitoring recovery post-surgery or treatment.
- Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with cleaning, scaling, and other oral care tasks.
- Manage animal husbandry duties including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and ensuring proper environmental conditions for various species.
- Operate imaging equipment such as X-ray machines while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Assist with animal catheterization, IV placement, and other critical care procedures in veterinary settings.
Requirements
- Prior experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar veterinary support role is essential.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and critical care practices.
- Experience working with dogs in handling and training is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures, X-ray operation, and aseptic techniques required for diagnostic support.
- Strong understanding of pet grooming, animal restraint techniques, and pet care best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations involving veterinary critical care cases.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and educate pet owners about animal health needs.
Pay: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour
