*Overview*
Grand Central Veterinary Hospital is seeking a part time Veterinary Technician to join our team. Position may become full time for the right candidate. We are a well established, 35+ year old privately owned small animal hospital that is looking for a reliable and responsible individual with flexibility in their schedule. The successful candidate will have some experience in a veterinary setting. Our technicians are also asked to cross-train at the front desk so the clinic can remain efficient during breaks, lunches, and unexpected absences.
*Duties*
– Assist veterinarians in routine examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
– Perform laboratory tests such as in-house blood work and urinalysis
– Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
– Take X-rays
– Maintain accurate medical records
– Provide compassionate care to animals in various states of health
– Educate pet owners on proper animal care, preventatives and treatment plans
*Skills*
– Proficiency in veterinary terminology and procedures
– Knowledge of animal handling techniques
– Familiarity with dental and critical care procedures for animals
– Ability to perform X-rays
– Experience in animal care
– Certification as a Veterinary Technician is a plus
– Outstanding customer service skills
– Pleasant, outgoing personality
– Team player that works well with others
