Jackson Square Animal Clinic is a small, two doctor practice seated in Historic Jackson Square in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. We are seeking a FULL TIME Licensed Veterinary Technician or highly skilled Assistant to join our small, close-knit team!
Required Position Skills:
Ability to obtain thorough medical histories and vitals on all patients, including exotics
Professional and thorough client communication and education
Ability to set up and accurately read in-house fecals and cytologies.
Ability to obtain digital radiographs on sedated and non-sedated patients
Restraining canine, feline and exotic patients in a safe and humane manner
Administering medications via injection (IM, SQ, IV) or orally
Applying bandages and splints
Proficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture is a MUST
Surgery prep and anesthesia monitoring
Proficient in dental prophylaxis
Knowledge of available parasite preventatives
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to climb, stand, and at times get on the floor to handle patients
Ability to maintain a clean work environment
Basic understanding of Veterinary Pharmacology
Knowledge of basic medical terminology to decipher medical records
Knowledge of Vaccination protocols for canine and feline patients
Willingness and being open to learn new skills is a must!
Knowledge of Cornerstone is a plus!
