Experienced Veterinary Technician needed for our busy, privately owned, practice. We are looking for a team member to help us maintain our high standard of excellence and quality medicine. You must be a team player, punctual, a self starter, and have a passion for making life better for animals and their owners.
Duties include but are not limited to;
Patient triage
Taking radiographs with knowledge of proper positioning
Acquiring blood, urine, or fecal samples
Intravenous catheter placement
Assisting in surgery
Monitoring anesthesia,
Calculating drug dosages
Treating and medicating patients as directed by the Veterinarian
Restraining patients
Bandaging and wound care
Dental cleanings (under anesthesia)
Fluid therapy
Client education
Requirements
Be able to lift up to 40 pounds
Be able to stand for long periods of time
A basic understanding of animal behavior
Must have experience working in veterinary medicine
Should be able to keep calm under pressure
Must be able to multitask
Have great attention to detail
Basic computer and math skills
RVT not required but is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 – $28.00 per hour
