Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing quality care to our animal patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgeries, performing laboratory tests, administering medications, and providing general support to the veterinary team.
Duties:
– Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
– Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and fecal analysis
– Take X-rays
– Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
– Prepare animals for surgery and monitor their vital signs during procedures
– Perform animal catheterization and assist with anesthesia administration
– Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery progress
– Clean and maintain medical equipment and instruments
– Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
– Handle animals with care and compassion during all interactions
Experience:
– Previous experience working as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role preferred
– Proficient in veterinary terminology and medical procedures
– Experience handling animals of various sizes, including dogs and cats
– Familiarity with veterinary critical care is beneficial
Requirements:
– High school diploma or equivalent required; certification as a Veterinary Technician is preferred
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
– Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
– Ability to work well within a team and follow instructions from veterinarians
– Compassionate nature with a genuine love for animals
