Veterinary Technician Jobs in Bulverde, TX at Bulverde Animal Hospital
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. We offer a flexible schedule of 4-5 days/week. The ideal candidate will be experienced and can train other technicians as a lead technician. Compensation:
$16 – $19 hourly
Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures.
Perform diagnostic tests, including blood work, urinalysis, and radiographs.
Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian.
Monitor and maintain patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.
Provide nursing care to hospitalized animals, including monitoring vital signs and administering treatments.
Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including sterilization of instruments and equipment.
Support the front desk staff with client communication and appointment scheduling as needed.
Stay current with veterinary practices and continuing education.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent experience is preferred.
Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) is preferred.
Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital is required.
Proficiency in animal restraint for physical examinations is required.
Medical mathematic skills to compute drug dosages and fluid rates accurately is required.
Experience in monitoring patient vitals during anesthetic procedures is required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment is required.
Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards animals and their owners is required.
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends is required
