Job description: Manager of a busy, high volume veterinary clinic and rescue.
Position Overview
We are looking for a committed Veterinary Technician to become part of our dynamic team. In this role, you will oversee a busy clinic alongside a team of 4 additional veterinary technicians, and an adoption manager. The ideal candidate will be skilled in intubation, capable of managing technician schedules, and adept at supervising clinic operations while closely collaborating with our veterinarians to meet their needs. Exceptional problem-solving abilities, punctuality, composure under pressure, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to remain calm in crisis situations are essential. Proficiency in computer skills is required. Our mission is to deliver outstanding rescue services and veterinary care to the community. We operate on a 10-hour, 4-day workweek, and phone coverage is expected daily.
Key Responsibilities
– Train new staff in procedures such as check-in, intubation, surgical preparation, vaccinations, blood draws, phone handling, and animal care.
– Interact with clients and rescue partners, working to secure foster homes as needed.
– Lead the adoption team and manage the veterinary technician staff.
– Assist veterinarians during procedures and daily operations.
– Help maintain and troubleshoot technical equipment used in emergency situations.
– Collaborate with team members to devise innovative solutions for complex issues.
– Regularly test and evaluate new technologies to ensure reliability and effectiveness.
– Provide technical support during rescue missions, ensuring all equipment functions optimally.
