Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of veterinary terminology and animal care, with hands-on experience in animal handling and husbandry. This role is crucial in providing high-quality care to our patients and supporting veterinarians in various procedures.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed.
Perform animal catheterization and prepare animals for surgery.
Conduct diagnostic tests, including X-rays, and interpret results.
Maintain accurate medical records for all patients.
Provide excellent animal care, including feeding, grooming, and exercise.
Handle animals safely and compassionately, ensuring their comfort.
Educate pet owners on proper animal care and health maintenance.
Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic or hospital environment.
Qualifications
Proficient knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures.
Experience with equine care is a plus but not required.
Strong skills in animal handling, including dogs and other domestic animals.
Familiarity with animal husbandry practices to ensure optimal health.
Ability to perform basic veterinary tasks such as catheterization and administering injections.
Experience with kennel management is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
A valid certification or degree in Veterinary Technology is preferred but not mandatory for entry-level positions.
