About the role | Mō te tūranga:

We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Section Head to lead our Haematology Department. The role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Veterinary Haematology section, ensuring quality and efficiency in laboratory processes while providing leadership and support to our staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain a high-quality, team-focused, efficient work environment within the Haematology section.

Perform routine and specialised laboratory tests, ensuring compliance with established procedures.

Provide technical and scientific guidance to staff and contribute to procedural documentation.

Oversee laboratory equipment maintenance and participate in quality control and improvement initiatives.

Assist in budgeting, stock control, and staff training, ensuring all staff are competent in their roles.

To succeed in this role, you will need | Kia angitu, me whai koe i:

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant Scientific or Veterinary role, including at least 1 year in a senior or supervisory capacity.

Experience in Haematology

Strong leadership and teamwork skills, fostering a collaborative environment.

Excellent communication and organisational abilities.

A commitment to maintaining professional standards and continuous improvement.
