Universal Pet Hospital is a brand new full-service animal hospital that will be opening soon!
It will provide superior veterinary care services, including wellness, surgical, and emergency care, to the pets and clients in our community 6 days a week.
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for pet owners, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our veterinary practice. This role requires a love for animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
At Universal Pet Hospital, we take care of our team members as well as our patients and clients. We do this by providing our team members all opportunities to grow professionally along with the practice.
Duties
Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival and provide excellent customer service throughout their visit.
Schedule appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar efficiently.
Handle medical collection processes, including billing inquiries and payment processing.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up-to-date in the system.
Assist veterinarians during examinations by preparing necessary documents and handling animals as needed.
Provide information to clients regarding pet care, treatment options, and clinic policies.
Manage phone calls, emails, and other communications in a professional manner.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room.
Support the veterinary team with administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role is preferred.
Knowledge of animal anatomy, husbandry, and care practices is essential.
Skills in medical collection processes are highly desirable.
Experience with dog handling, restraint techniques, and veterinary critical care is a plus.
Familiarity with aseptic techniques and basic animal training principles would be beneficial.
Strong communication skills with an ability to empathize with pet owners during stressful situations.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
A genuine passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing high-quality care.
We will love your experience, passion, drive, and ability to work well with a team. This is a full-time position, and while we prefer experience in a Veterinary setting, we are willing to train the right person.
