Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service and support to pet owners while ensuring the smooth operation of our veterinary clinic. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess strong communication skills, as they will be the first point of contact for clients and their beloved pets.
Responsibilities
Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Schedule appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar efficiently.
Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up to date.
Process payments and manage billing inquiries with professionalism.
Assist veterinary staff with administrative tasks as needed.
Provide clients with information on animal care, including vaccination schedules and preventive health measures.
Handle animals safely and comfortably during check-in and check-out processes.
Skills
Proficiency in veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with clients and staff.
Knowledge of animal handling techniques, including animal restraint and husbandry practices.
Familiarity with dog training principles is a plus.
Experience in kennel operations or animal care environments is beneficial.
Understanding of animal anatomy knowledge to assist in client education.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with clients and their pets.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while maintaining a compassionate approach toward animals.
