Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for pet owners and play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service while ensuring the smooth operation of our veterinary practice. Your passion for animals and strong communication skills will help create a welcoming environment for both clients and their pets.
Responsibilities
Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism upon arrival.
Schedule appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar efficiently.
Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.
Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans.
Process payments and manage billing inquiries with attention to detail.
Assist veterinary staff with animal handling during examinations or treatments.
Provide information on pet grooming, care, and nutrition to clients.
Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming at all times.
Handle laboratory samples and maintain proper aseptic techniques as needed.
Support animal husbandry practices by educating clients on proper pet care.
Qualifications
Previous customer service experience (minimum of 5 years required)
Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is required (minimum of 1 year)
Strong knowledge of basic veterinary procedures
Ability to perform medical collection tasks accurately when required.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
