Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for clients and their beloved pets, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our veterinary practice. This role requires a blend of administrative skills and a passion for animal care, ensuring that both clients and their pets feel welcomed and supported.
Responsibilities
Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, providing a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Schedule appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar efficiently.
Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about services offered.
Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans.
Process payments and manage billing inquiries with attention to detail.
Assist veterinary staff with patient intake, including gathering relevant medical information.
Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
Educate clients on proper animal care practices and available services.
Handle any client concerns or complaints professionally and empathetically.
Qualifications
Experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is required.
Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of veterinary software systems.
Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and husbandry practices is advantageous.
Familiarity with aseptic techniques, animal catheterization, and veterinary critical care is a plus.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members with a positive attitude.
Ability to demonstrate animal restraint techniques safely when necessary.
Proficient in using office equipment and software for scheduling and record keeping.
A genuine love for animals and commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
