Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our veterinary clinic. This role requires a love for animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
Schedule appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar efficiently.
Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.
Maintain accurate patient records and update client information in the system.
Process payments and handle billing inquiries with professionalism.
Assist veterinary staff with basic animal handling during examinations or treatments.
Provide information on animal care, including preventive health measures and nutritional advice.
Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
Collaborate with veterinary technicians and veterinarians to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Experience
Prior experience in a veterinary setting or animal care facility is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal husbandry, and animal handling techniques is an asset.
Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to animal care is beneficial.
Experience in customer service roles will enhance your ability to interact positively with clients.
Skills in dog training or handling, as well as knowledge of veterinary critical care practices, are advantageous.
