Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, providing support to veterinarians in delivering high-quality medical care to pets. This role involves a variety of tasks that require both technical skills and a love for animals, ensuring that our furry patients receive the best possible treatment.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment is prepared and sterile. IVC/Blood draws, Idexx labs
Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, while accurately documenting results.
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
Provide excellent pet care by monitoring animal behavior and vital signs during procedures.
Utilize proper aseptic techniques to maintain a clean and safe environment for both animals and staff.
Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations or treatments, ensuring their comfort and safety.
Educate pet owners on proper animal husbandry, nutrition, and post-operative care.
Maintain accurate medical records using veterinary terminology to ensure clear communication within the team.
Participate in pet grooming as needed, ensuring pets are clean and well-groomed prior to examinations.
Requirements
Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology from an accredited program is preferred.
Proven experience in veterinary settings with knowledge of animal handling techniques.
Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices is a plus.
Strong understanding of veterinary terminology and procedures related to pet care.
Ability to perform animal restraint effectively while ensuring the safety of both the animal and staff.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.
A compassionate attitude towards animals with a commitment to their well-being.
Physical ability to lift animals up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Pay: $26.00 – $31.00 per hour
