Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring a smooth operation within the veterinary practice. This role requires a love for animals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism as they arrive at the clinic.
Schedule appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar efficiently.
Handle incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about services offered.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is up-to-date.
Process payments and manage billing inquiries with attention to detail.
Assist veterinary staff with animal handling during examinations or treatments as needed.
Provide clients with information on pet care, vaccination schedules, and preventive health measures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room.
Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality patient care and client satisfaction.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
Strong animal handling skills, including experience with dog handling and general pet care.
Familiarity with veterinary terminology and animal anatomy knowledge is preferred.
Experience in laboratory procedures or aseptic techniques is a plus.
Knowledge of animal husbandry practices to provide informed advice to pet owners.
Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is highly desirable but not mandatory.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members alike.
