Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our clients and their beloved pets, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our veterinary practice. This role requires a strong understanding of veterinary terminology and animal care, as well as excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and veterinary staff.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Schedule appointments, manage the calendar, and handle patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
- Maintain accurate medical records and update client information in the database.
- Process payments and manage medical collections with professionalism.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about services offered.
- Assist veterinary staff with patient care tasks as needed, including animal handling and restraint.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room.
- Educate pet owners on proper pet care, vaccination schedules, and preventive health measures.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and veterinarians to ensure seamless patient flow.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred, with knowledge of veterinary terminology. Not required.
- Familiarity with animal husbandry practices, including dog handling and animal restraint techniques. Not required.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
