Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for pet owners, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our veterinary clinic. This role requires a love for animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism upon arrival.
Schedule appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar effectively.
Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up-to-date.
Process payments and manage billing inquiries with attention to detail.
Assist veterinary staff with animal handling during examinations or treatments as needed.
Provide clients with information about animal care, grooming, and general wellness.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room.
Educate clients on veterinary terminology, services offered, and post-care instructions.
Experience
Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with veterinary terminology and animal anatomy knowledge is a plus.
Skills in animal handling, pet grooming, animal husbandry, and basic animal care are beneficial.
Experience in veterinary critical care or knowledge of animal catheterization will be considered an asset.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both clients and team members.
Proficiency in using office software and managing electronic medical records is advantageous.
