Veterinary Practice Manager (Private Practice) Jobs in Parker, CO at Hess Ridge Animal Hospital

Lead the Next Stage of a Growing, Privately Owned Veterinary Hospital

Hess Ridge Animal Hospital is a rapidly growing, independently owned small animal hospital in Parker, Colorado. Since opening in 2024, we have built a busy multi-doctor practice with a strong team, an established client base, and continued demand for our services.

We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Practice Manager to help lead the hospital through its next stage of growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role with meaningful responsibility and autonomy. The Practice Manager will work closely with ownership and the medical team to oversee daily operations, develop employees, improve systems, strengthen hospital culture, and ensure the practice continues to grow in a healthy and sustainable way.

With continued growth at our current hospital and plans for future expansion, this is an opportunity to play an important role in building the systems, leadership structure, and team needed for the future.

What You’ll Do

The Practice Manager will have responsibility for many aspects of hospital operations, including:

  • Lead and support our CSR, veterinary assistant, and RVT teams
  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and retain great employees
  • Coach employees and help develop future leaders
  • Manage performance concerns and difficult conversations consistently and professionally
  • Create and manage staff schedules based on hospital needs
  • Monitor labor utilization and staffing levels
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and improve hospital systems
  • Help ensure our veterinarians and clinical teams have the support they need to work efficiently
  • Develop clear expectations, training processes, and accountability
  • Oversee inventory, vendors, and operational expenses
  • Monitor hospital KPIs and use data to guide operational decisions
  • Assist with payroll, HR processes, policies, and compliance
  • Address elevated client concerns when appropriate
  • Help protect and strengthen hospital culture
  • Work closely with ownership on strategic initiatives and continued growth
  • Help prepare the practice operationally for future expansion

This is not simply an administrative position. We are looking for someone who can understand what is happening throughout the hospital, recognize problems early, and help the team find practical solutions.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is an experienced leader who is organized, approachable, accountable, and comfortable making decisions.

Strong candidates will be able to balance two important parts of the position: being present and engaged with the team while still maintaining enough perspective to manage the hospital strategically.

We are especially interested in someone who enjoys:

  • Developing and mentoring employees
  • Creating clear systems and expectations
  • Improving workflow and efficiency
  • Building a strong and accountable team culture
  • Using financial and operational data to guide decisions
  • Identifying problems before they become larger issues
  • Helping a growing organization become more organized and scalable

Preferred Experience

Previous veterinary practice management or significant veterinary leadership experience is strongly preferred but not required.

Experience in several of the following areas would be especially valuable:

  • Veterinary hospital operations
  • Team leadership and employee development
  • Recruiting, hiring, and retention
  • Scheduling and labor management
  • Performance management
  • Veterinary workflow and efficiency
  • Financial statements, budgets, and operational KPIs
  • Inventory and vendor management
  • HR and employment processes
  • Practice-management software and technology
  • Managing a growing or changing organization

CVPM certification is welcomed but not required.

Why Hess Ridge?

Hess Ridge is independently owned, which allows us to make decisions locally and adapt quickly.

We invest heavily in our people, technology, equipment, and systems when they can meaningfully improve patient care or the experience of our team.

Our goal is to create a hospital where veterinarians can focus on practicing excellent medicine, support staff can continue developing their careers, and team members feel that their contributions and ideas matter.

We have experienced significant growth since opening and expect that growth to continue. Building the right leadership structure is an important part of making sure we grow without sacrificing the culture, quality of care, and client experience that helped establish the hospital.

For the right person, this position offers the opportunity to have a meaningful influence on both the day-to-day operation of an established hospital and the future direction of a growing independent veterinary practice.

Pay: $70,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
