Join our LAH veterinary team as a Veterinary Kennel Assistant and play a vital role in providing exceptional care and comfort to our animal boarders. Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, treatment areas, and surgical areas to uphold the highest standards of hygiene and safety
- Assist with animal handling, including dog handling and behavior management to ensure safe and stress-free kennel interactions
- Support veterinary staff with procedures such as medication administration and basic animal care tasks
- Monitor animals’ health status by observing behavior, recording diet and water intake, and reporting any concerns promptly
- Help with record keeping by documenting medications administered if needed, and daily observations
- Assist with veterinary communication by providing updates on animal care and answering basic questions under supervision
- Support surgical preparation and post-operative care as per veterinarian/veterinary technicians to ensure smooth procedures and recovery processes

Preferred, but not required:
- Prior kennel experience or animal handling background preferred; enthusiasm for working with animals is essential
- Basic knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior highly desirable
- Experience in veterinary clinic settings or with veterinary technician tasks such as medication administration or record keeping is a plus
- Ability to perform cleaning duties diligently
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members
- Capable of handling animals safely and understanding animal welfare principles
- Willingness to learn new skills related to medication administration, and other required veterinary procedures as needed
