Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess knowledge in pet care and veterinary assistance.
Responsibilities
Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, runs, and animal holding areas.
Monitor dogs and cats as instructed.
Feed and provide fresh water to all pets according to specific dietary needs.
Assist with bathing and basic grooming of animals.
Monitor animal behavior and report signs of illness or distress to veterinary staff.
Ensure all animals are safe, secure, and comfortable during their stay.
Maintain laundry, stock supplies, and ensure cleanliness of the kennel area.
Support veterinary technicians and doctors with restraint during basic procedures as needed.
Follow all safety protocols related to animal handling, sanitation, and disease prevention.
Experience
Previous experience in pet care or veterinary assistance is preferred
Knowledge of animal anatomy and husbandry practices is a plus
Experience with dog handling is beneficial
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 – $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
