Duties
Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose medical conditions.
Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments as necessary.
Perform surgical procedures with precision and care, utilizing aseptic techniques.
Provide emergency and critical care for animals in need.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
Collaborate with veterinary technicians to ensure effective animal restraint and handling during procedures.
Stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Handle a variety of species including dogs, cats, equine, and other domestic animals.
Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
Valid veterinary license to practice in the state.
Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal physiology.
Experience or training in animal handling techniques, including dog handling and equine care.
Proficiency in veterinary critical care practices and animal catheterization.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and staff.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining a compassionate approach towards animals.
