Veterinary Assistant/Veterinary Technician
Duties: – Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals – Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, blood draws, and nail trims – Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians – Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures – Proper positioning and safety precautions when assisting with X-rays – Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures – Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery of animals – Maintain accurate medical records
Skills: – Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior – Proficient in handling and restraining animals safely and effectively – Ability to operate veterinary equipment and perform basic laboratory tests – Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and veterinary team members – Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately – Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
