Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and the ability to provide support in a fast-paced veterinary environment. This role involves assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering high-quality care to a variety of animals, including pets and some exotic patients.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of animals.
Handle and restrain animals for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian or veterinary technician.
Monitor animal vital signs and report any changes to the veterinarian.
Assist with animal catheterization and other critical care procedures as needed.
Provide education to pet owners regarding animal care, nutrition, and health maintenance.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
Support the team in managing inventory.
Requirements
Previous experience in a veterinary setting is mandatory.
Knowledge of animal physiology and behavior is essential.
Skills in dog and cat handling, animal restraint, and general animal care are highly valued.
Familiarity with veterinary critical care is a plus.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
Excellent communication skills to interact with pet owners and team members effectively.
Must be able to lift animals weighing up to 50 pounds safely.
A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being is required.

Pay: $14.00 – $17.00 per hour
