Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and veterinary technicians in the care of animals. Your responsibilities will include assisting with examinations, treatments, and procedures, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for both pets and their owners.
Duties
Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments.
Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian.
Perform basic pet care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and feeding.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each animal.
Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
Monitor animal behavior and health status during visits.
Experience
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills:
Knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy to assist in patient care effectively.
Familiarity with veterinary terminology to communicate effectively within the team.
Experience in pet care, including handling various types of animals.
Skills in animal catheterization and aseptic technique for assisting in medical procedures.
Understanding of dental terminology related to animal dental care.
Previous experience as a veterinary technician or in a similar role is a plus.
Proficiency in pet grooming techniques is advantageous.
