Operated by the nonprofit organization Rude Ranch Animal Rescue, Spay Spa & Neuter Nook is a high-quality, high volume spay/neuter clinic situated in Anne Arundel County, MD. Since opening in 2012, we have performed over 80,000 spay/neuter surgeries, partnered with over 150 different animal welfare and rescue organizations, and facilitated millions of wet kisses. We serve all surrounding Virginia – DC – Maryland communities.

This position includes working with veterinarians to prepare animals for surgery, administer injections, intubate, draw blood, assist the veterinarian during surgery and monitor each animal during recovery; preparing surgery packs and maintain surgical equipment; lifting and restraining heavy animals (applicant should be able to joint carry up to 100 lb dog on a stretcher); setting up of the clinic in the morning and cleaning up the clinic at the end of day; assisting with animal check-in and discharge.
On the off chance a registered veterinary technician is looking at this position, we encourage you to apply. We prefer applicants to have some veterinary clinic experience but are willing to train the right person.
Hours/Work schedule:
Full-time employees must be available to work at least 36 hours per week. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, 7 am to 4 pm. Full-time employees work four days a week and have three day weekends! No after-hours or weekend hours = great work/life balance.
Wage and Benefits:
Wage based off experience. Starting pay will range from $16.00-$20.00
