Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant OR Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing high-quality care to animals. Your responsibilities will include assisting with medical procedures, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and ensuring the comfort of our animal patients. A strong passion for animal care and a commitment to providing excellent service are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
Provide care for animals, including feeding and exercising.
Maintain cleanliness in the clinic, including kennels and examination rooms.
Prepare and administer medications as directed by the veterinary team.
Conduct basic laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic procedures.
Clean, wrap and sterilize surgical instruments, set up surgery room.
Monitor animal behavior and report any changes to the veterinary staff.
Handle animals safely and effectively during examinations and treatments.
Manage front desk duties such as scheduling appointments and greeting clients.
Ensure all equipment is sanitized and maintained according to aseptic techniques.
Requirements
Knowledge of animal husbandry practices is preferred.
Experience in a kennel or veterinary setting is a plus.
Familiarity with animal anatomy and basic veterinary procedures.
Ability to perform basic laboratory tasks is advantageous.
Experience handling equine or large animals is desirable but not mandatory.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
