We are looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic, and eager-to-grow and learn candidate to join our team as a Veterinary Assistant/Technician. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and be knowledgeable in the latest veterinary techniques. No background? We are more than happy to teach the right candidate! The Veterinary Technician will be responsible for providing medical care to animals, performing routine laboratory tests, assisting veterinarians with medical procedures, and educating pet owners on proper animal care. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, be able to work well with both animals and people and fit into our culture at the clinic. This position WILL START PART TIME AND HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO WORKUP TO FULL TIME. Our business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am until 5:30 pm.
Responsibilities (not an all inclusive list):
Assist veterinarians in the examination and treatment of animals.
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
Maintain medical records and prepare reports.
Monitor vital signs of animals.
Perform laboratory tests such as urinalysis, fecal analysis, and blood work.
Provide nursing care for hospitalized animals.
Assist in surgery preparation and recovery.
Educate clients on animal health care.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $9.00 – $20.00 per hour
