Veterinary Assistant
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our fear free veterinary hospital. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinary staff and providing exceptional care to our animal patients.
Responsibilities:
– Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures
– Perform animal catheterization and assist with laboratory tests
– Handle and restrain animals for treatment
– Provide basic animal husbandry and care
– Maintain cleanliness and organization of kennels and examination rooms
– Monitor animal vital signs and report any abnormalities to the veterinary team
– Assist with equine care as needed
– Handle dog interactions and ensure their well-being
Qualifications:
– Previous experience in animal handling and restraint
– Knowledge of animal physiology and basic care practices
– Familiarity with laboratory procedures is a plus
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
– Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
– Fear Free certification is a plus, however training will be provided.
