Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the smooth operation of our veterinary practice. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and veterinary staff alike.
Duties
Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, creating a welcoming environment.
Schedule appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar efficiently.
Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.
Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.
Process payments and manage billing inquiries with attention to detail.
Assist veterinary staff in preparing for examinations and procedures as needed.
Provide information on pet care, medications, and post-treatment instructions to clients.
Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
Skills
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
Experience in kennel or animal handling environments is preferred.
Knowledge of pet care practices and animal husbandry principles.
Familiarity with veterinary assistant duties, including animal restraint techniques.
Ability to administer medications under the guidance of veterinary professionals.
Understanding of basic animal physiology and laboratory procedures is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients and team members.
Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
