About the Position:
The Veterinary Assistant is responsible for providing excellent patient care, assisting in the treatment of animals, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The ideal candidate will be able to perform routine tasks with minimal supervision, demonstrate professionalism and compassion, and maintain a high level of cleanliness.
Responsibilities:
Perform procedures under the direction of the veterinarian
Perform animal exams (blood pressure, urinalysis, fecal analysis, etc.)
Administer medication per direction of veterinarian
Clean and prepare animal rooms and instruments
Perform general cleaning duties (i.e., vacuuming, mopping, dusting, organizing)
Handle all cleaning chemicals in a safe manner and maintain a clean work environment
Record cleanliness of animal rooms and instruments according to cleaning schedule
Ensure that all animal feed and water are kept clean and organized throughout the day
Maintain equipment in a clean and proper manner throughout the day
Report any maintenance problems or safety concerns to the veterinarian or supervisor
Assist in preparing animals for examinations or procedures
Assist in preparing animals for examinations or procedures
Assist in loading unloading vehicles at end of day
Adhere to all OSHA regulations and EPA regulations when working in animal facilities or facilities that may contain animal facilities or animal housing.

Pay: $19.00 – $24.00 per hour
