Garden State Veterinary Services is excited to announce that we are hiring veterinary assistants to join our Ophthalmology department in providing high quality medical care to the animals of our community!

Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 8am – 5pm

About GSVServices: We are a multispecialty practice with boarded specialists in cardiology, internal medicine, surgery, radiology, and critical care. Our clients and patients also have access to ophthalmology, oncology, radiation oncology, neurology, dermatology, and radioactive iodine treatment.

Veterinary Assistants at GSVSservices work along technicians and specialists and have access to the most advanced diagnostic tools to provide the best possible care. On any given day, you can expect to do the following on your shifts:

Help keep the hospital stocked, clean and organized
Run many different diagnostics in our laboratory
Assist doctors and staff with safely restraining animals of different sizes and breeds
Room clients and obtain medical history
Walk dogs
Obtain vitals

Once trust is built with the team, you can expect to begin learning how to:

Place IVC and obtain blood samples
Run laboratory tests
Provide SQ Fluids and medications to patients with oversight
Triage patients
Calculate and administer medications

About you:

1 year experience in animal related field
Ability to work well in a highly collaborative environment
Commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
Positive outlook and friendly, team-orientated attitude
Excellent communication and organizational skills
The ability to deliver exceptional client service
Honesty, integrity, and a desire to learn and have fun!
