Veterinarian Technician / Assistant & Reception
We are a small one doctor practice in a brand new and fully updated veterinarian office in Denville. Experience preferred but willing to train the right person.
We are looking for a flexible and hardworking individual who will also be willing to be trained and assist in reception if needed.
*Average of about 35 hours per week* EVERY SATURDAY AND SUNDAY A MUST
Compensation based on experience.
Veterinary Assistant Responsibilities – willing to train the right candidate
· Administering injections and subcutaneous fluids
· Preparing and administering medications and treatments as prescribed by doctors
· Proper monitoring of patients based on level of care needed · Maintaining clean, dry and comfortable surroundings for all patients
· Safely and effectively restraining patients of all temperaments
· Recording medical history/data thoroughly and accurately
· Collecting and labeling laboratory specimens as needed
· Detail oriented
· Positive attitude
· Team player
· Ability to contribute to a culture of engagement and comradery
Willingness to cross train to assist in reception required
Reception Responsibilities
· Answering calls on a multi-line system
· Scheduling appointments
· Checking in clients and collecting accounts payable upon checkout
· Manage patient/client records via computer system
· Client education
· Assist in cleanliness and maintenance of the practice
Veterinary Tech Qualifications:
1 year in veterinary, professional animal care or boarding facility.
