We’re looking for a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Licensed Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our team! About the Position
Our veterinary technicians and assistants play an essential role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our veterinarians. This is a great opportunity for someone who is knowledgeable, caring, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a busy veterinary environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Provide compassionate and attentive care to hospitalized and outpatient patients
- Obtain and record patient histories, temperatures, weights, and vital signs
- Assist with laboratory procedures, including blood draws and sample preparation
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian
- Prepare patients for surgery and assist with anesthesia monitoring, as appropriate
- Monitor patients during recovery and hospitalization
- Take and develop radiographs as trained and authorized
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
- Properly clean, disinfect, and maintain treatment and surgical areas
- Educate clients on medications, home care, nutrition, and follow-up instructions
- Safely handle and restrain animals
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary hospital environment
- Assist with inventory management and stocking medical supplies
- Work collaboratively with veterinarians, reception staff, and other team members
What We’re Looking For
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or Veterinary Assistant
- Previous veterinary experience preferred
- Compassionate, patient, and comfortable handling animals
- Strong communication and client-service skills
- Reliable, organized, and able to multitask
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality patient care
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
- A positive attitude and genuine passion for veterinary medicine
For Veterinary Technicians: An active veterinary technician license/registration in the applicable state is required.
